Chris is rumored to lead a double life as Moongoose McQueen, lead singer for the rock band Fozzy, the originators of the heavy metal sound of the 80s. Mr. McQueen has vehemently denied this rumor, but Chris admits freely that Moongoose is his idol, and purports to screaming like a little girl at an N*SYNC concert when he goes to see Fozzy. Chris has used the moniker 'Lion Heart' for most of his career, until he came tothe WWF. In Japan, most of the non-Japanese wrestlers had an animal name (Wild Pegasus Chris Benoit, Black Tiger Eddie Gurrero) and the Japanese and Mexican fans had a hard time with the name 'Jericho'. He didn't use Lion Heart when he was with Lance Storm in Smoky Mountain Wrestling or in ECW, but went back to it in WCW. Chris is actually close friends with Chris Benoit, even though they've spent a good part of their WWF careers being bitter rivals. Chris is also friends with Eddie Guerreo, Perry Saturn and WCW's Lance Storm (whom he wrestled with in SMW as the ThrillSeekers. Chris was 19 when we got into the legendary Stu Hart School of Wrestling in Calgary, Alberta. He wanted to go straight out of high school, but waited a couple of years to bulk up first. Chris is the ONLY Canadian wrestler to grace the cover of BOTH the Canadian and US editions of TV Guide. YES...the name Jericho DID come from the Bible, from the city that
Joshua and the people took. The story goes that God told Joshua that he would
give him the city if he and the people of Israel would walk around the walls
7 times a day for 7 days, without making a sound...just walk around the
walls, following the Ark of the Covenant and blowing trumpets. Sure enough,
on the seventh day, God knocked the walls down and the people of Israel took
the city. Among Chris's neighbors in Tampa FL: Christian (Jason Reso) Chris was inducted into the Canadian Wrestling Hall of Fame on September 25, 1997. Chris played hockey, right up until he went into wrestling school, and if he hadn't made it as a wrestler, he might have followed Dad's footsteps in the NHL(and played for the Rangers I hope! Yeah, I'm a mark for the Rangers, get over it!) Chris also played water polo in high school and college.
